I want to talk about hope.
These have been some hard times for so many of us; for all sorts of reason. There are things happening that we have no experience dealing with, problems we have no experience or reference for solving.
These are good times too. There are good days happening for people all over the place, but for whatever reason, we are not talking about them. Or maybe I am not hearing it.
So for now, everyday I am going to talk to someone or write something about Hope.
I want it in my life, my conversation and my dreams.
Comments, thoughts, theories and stories of hope are welcome here.
I’m new to blogging so bear with me and all the default settings as I find my way through this.
Thanks for reading
A beautiful reason to blog. I recently felt a compulsion to celebrate hope in my life. I did it by writing a piece of music titled “the thing with feathers.” It is based on Emily Dickenson’s poem,
Hope is the thing with feathers
that perches in the soul
and sings the tune without words
that never stops at all.
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
that could abash the little bird
that kept so many warm.
I’ve heard it in the chillest land
and on the strangest sea
Never in extremity
it asked a thing of me.
Now I have a melody ringing inside of me to go with the poem…and bring me comfort in odd moments.
Here’s to hope.

Thanks so much for putting this here.
I often heard the expression Hope is the thing with feathers, but I didn’t know where it came from. Now I know!

Hope is the strength that fills us within
It is bright and warm
Like the sun after a gloomy night
Hope is change about to begin
It is the calm within the storm
It is courage in the face of plight

Dear Hope I crossed on your blog accidentally and I have no regrets about that. I enjoy every word written by you and I wish more people would read your posts. In a postmodernist society and also a consumerist one, true values vanished away. May HOPE enlight our spirits and set us free!
